Description: Adiponectin is a 244 amino acid protein produced primarily by adipose tissue (1). It is produced as a monomer and assembles into trimers, hexamers (LMW), and 12-36 unit (HMW) multimers (2). Adiponectin has been associated with type 2 diabetes, athersclerosis, and obesity and has demonstrated anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-atherogenic properties (3-5). This antibody was developed against a KLH conjugated peptide and demonstrates membrane staining of adiponectin in porcine adipose tissue.
