Flow Cytometry

Flow Cytometry

Flow cytometry is a remarkably adaptable analytical method that allows clinicians and researchers to determine a great deal about cell populations. A wide range of commercially available fluorochromes enable scientists to “tag” many different types of cells, while various dyes can be used to determine the relative abundance of sub-populations within a sample. At Xeno Diagnostics, we offer both clinical and research applications utilizing the flow-cytometric method.

Our clinical focus centers around CD34 positive cell enumerations, which are run in accordance with ISHAGE protocol guidelines for the analysis of human cord blood specimens. We work with our clients to optimize both the samples themselves, and the shipment method, in order to obtain reliable and accurate results. Learn more about our cord blood assay.

Our research focus is on complement-dependent antibody-mediated cytotoxicity studies. While we currently have this protocol optimized for use in non-human primate models, we are able to validate it for use in other animal and human populations as well.

As previously mentioned, flow cytometry has a great deal of flexibility in terms of what cell populations can be analyzed for. At Xeno Diagnostics, we are able to custom design assays to meet the needs of our clients. As our clients often include drug and medical device manufacturers, we offer both GLP compliant and non-GLP compliant development services, depending on the current stage of development.
